A 59-year old woman from Delaware died Wednesday after falling from a zip line course at Lums Pond State Park.

Delaware State Police have identified the woman as Tina Werner of Felton. They say she was standing on a platform about 35 feet above the ground, waiting to descend on a zip line at the Go Ape Aerial Rope Adventure when she fell.

In a statement, Go Ape said witnesses had seen the woman disconnect from the safety system before falling.

Police said employees of Go Ape rendered first aid and advanced life-saving efforts.

She was then treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics before being transported to the Christiana Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.
